Paperwork for execution Amrozi and friends being prepared

22 July 2008, DENPASAR - The court in Bali is currently preparing the paperwork needed for the three that are sentenced to death because of their involvement in the first Bali bomb attack in 2002. These steps are taken in order to make sure that the executions will take before the holy month of Ramadan. "All paperwork is currently being gathered. Tomorrow we will hand it over to the Attorney General in Jakarta," said Putu Alit Adnyana a spokesperson of the court in Denpasar.

Putu Alit said that when an execution is announced, all the paperwork is immediately gathered as what is ordered by the Attorney General. The completion of this paperwork is one of the requirements which has to be completed before the execution takes place. The court is also preparing three people who will be witness of the execution by a firing squad of the three convicts. He refused to tell when the executions were to take place.

"It is up to the Attorney General to give the go-ahead," he said. Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said earlier that the execution of the three was to be done before the fasting month. The exact date can be decided when he receives the documents in which the final appeal of the three convicts is turned down.
