JAKARTA, 04 September 2008 - Indonesian tourism industry desires mutual support in developing tourism with Guangdong Province in China, an official from the Indonesian tourism and culture ministry said on Thursday. "We know that Guangdong is the province which attracts the most foreign tourists compared with other provinces in China," expert staff of Indonesian tourism and culture ministry Titien told.

The Guangdong people are interested in visiting other countries for recreation, the official said, adding "Indonesia is one of the mostly visited places by Guangdong people. And the number of Indonesian people who visited Guangdong last year was around 297,000," she said. The ministry hoped that there would be more tourists from Guangdong visiting Indonesia this year. The Ministry coordinated with the association of Indonesian tour and operators and travel agencies to take this opportunity to promote tourism in the country.
