JAKARTA, 28 August 2008 - Sumatra's endangered elephants and tigers are to get a boost from an Indonesian government move to expand one of their last havens. Speaking in Jakarta, head of WWF in Indonesia, Mubariq Ahmad says a four-year-old national park on the island will be more than doubled to 86,000 hectares.

The conservation group says 60 to 80 elephants and about 50 tigers are believed to live in the area now to be covered by the park.
