JAKARTA, 19 August 2008 - A member of the staff of the Attorney General in Jakarta, Abdul Hakim Ritonga, said that the execution order for the three convicted of being the masterminds of the Bali bombs in 2002, is already on the table of Attorney General Hendarman Supanji. According to Ritonga, the execution is just a doorstep away, waiting for final approval by the Attorney General. "The documents are on his table already."

Ritonga said that he could not tell when the exact date and location of the executions would be. "We don't know the date yet, yesterday was a national holiday." he said. Earlier this month Hendarman had already announced that the executions would be done before the start of the holy moth of fasting, Ramadhan. The three convicts, Amrozi, Ali Gufron and Imam Samudra, are still in a death row cell on the prison island of Nusa Kambangan, just off the coast of Cilacap in central Java.
