JAKARTA, 03 June 2007 - The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has set a target of 116 million tourists visiting the different tourist objects accross Indonesia for this year. "This target is higher than that of last year which was set at 114 million," said Titien Soekarya, director for Domestic Tourism Promotion.
She told her office was optimistic that the target would be reached because last year's target of 114 million was reached as well. Titien said that Indonesia has huge potentials for tourism which had not been exploited until now. "Most of local tourists only visited the tourist objects in Java and Bali, or abroad, while Indonesia is really rich in attractive places and cultures," she said.
