MATARAM, 13 July 2006 - An Australian man was reported to the police Thursday in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, for allegedly sodomizing four minors. The case was uncovered when police detained four children on charges of stealing the Australian man's belongings in a hotel where he lived. Only when the police started questioning the children did they found out that the children may have been victims of sexual assault.

Dozens of the victims' relatives went to the Senggigi Police Station on Thursday demanding that the children be released. They also asked the police to question the Australian, identified only as Don, 40, and to prevent him from leaving the country. "We are investigating the case and will soon summons the Australian," Senggigi Police chief First Insp. Trisal Prianggara said.
