JAKARTA, 06 May 2006 - Doctors treating ailing former Indonesian president Suharto said his condition was still not stable because his organs have partly failed, but ongoing blood transfusions have slightly improved his condition.
Suharto, 84, was admitted to Pertamina Hospital in the capital, Jakarta, on Thursday evening for intestinal bleeding. He also was having problems swallowing food, doctors said. Brig. Gen. Marjo Subiandono, the presidential doctor, said late Friday the function of some of Suharto's organs has decreased by 70 percent.
