spacer 9 May 2005 - Indonesia reached almost 24 million children in its last polio immunizations but may have another vaccination round in some regions to be sure of stamping out the disease by 2008, officials said on Monday. Over the past year polio, once considered virtually wiped out globally, has infected hundreds in Indonesia

24 August 2005 - Indonesia's polio outbreak could develop into an epidemic with the onset of the wet season, a U.N. official said on Tuesday, one week before the start of a campaign to vaccinate 24 million children nationwide. Polio returned in May to Indonesia, which had been free of the water-borne disease since 1995.
